What about appraiser licensing?

Because of the savings and loan crisis in the late 1980s, appraisal licensing was set up in every state by the mid 1990s. A few states are "mandatory" where all appraisals must be done by licensed or certified appraisers, but most only require licensed or certified appraisers for mortgage loans over $250,000 (an other state and federal requirements).
