Whataburger plans fourth location in this growing Manatee County area

Whataburger, a Texas-based fast-food chain with a cult following, is moving forward with another Tampa Bay location.

The burger joint that started as a hamburger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, is planning its fourth Tampa Bay location in Palmetto. The restaurant will rise on 1.2 acres of vacant land along Authentix Loop, near the intersection of Moccasin Wallow Road and Carter Road, according to a permit filed with Manatee County.
