National homebuilder plans 300 homes in Spring Hill

A national homebuilder among the largest in Tampa Bay is planning over 300 homes in Hernando County as part of a second phase of a larger development.

D.R. Horton, headquartered in Arlington, Texas, submitted a Southwest Florida Water Management District permit on Monday for 303 homes in a community called Somerset Bay in Spring Hill. This is phase two of the project, spanning nearly 88 acres of the project's total 628 acres. The community is located near the intersection of Deltona Boulevard and Bay Drive.
