They don't make land like this anymore

Leaders in Hutto, Texas, had a goal of landing a “big fish.” They pulled together 1,400 acres of property to secure what they hoped would be a landmark economic-development deal. But when companies like Tesla Inc., Amazon.com Inc. and Applied Materials Inc. passed on the boomtown near Austin within the last decade, Hutto’s leaders pivoted. They divvied up pieces of the megasite they’d created for speculative industrial and commercial developers instead, playing to the demands of the market.
