Cinema scion bets on Clearwater with ‘world’s largest’ screen

Mitch Roberts is betting that the future of cinema in downtown Clearwater is bigger — literally — than anything the industry has ever seen.

The CEO of Dallas-based Elevate Entertainment Group plans to anchor a $50 million entertainment complex on Cleveland Street with what he says will be the largest movie screen in the world, stretching 131 feet wide, as part of a broader push to turn moviegoing into a full-day activity.
