Hotel on Tampa Riverwalk lands $94 million for luxury upgrades

The owners of a closely watched hotel on the downtown Tampa waterfront have closed a refinancing deal to make way for luxury upgrades to the property.

Newbond Holdings and Apollo Global Management, which have owned the property formerly known as the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk since 2022, have secured a $94.36 million refinancing loan from Bain Capital and Smith Hill Capital. Mortgage documents have not yet been filed in Hillsborough County.
