Mixed-use marina project lands Bradenton Beach developer in Chapter 11

A controversial marina mixed-use project led by a Bradenton Beach real estate investor has landed the firm in Chapter 11 bankruptcy after months of clashes with the bank that funded part of the $85 million development.

Leestma Management, a real estate firm founded by Ryan Leestma in 2016, listed between $50 million and $100 million in liabilities in the Chapter 11 filing on April 1 in the Middle District of Florida bankruptcy court.
