Downtown St. Pete's Sundial lines up tenants to debut this year

Nearly 25 years after opening in downtown St. Petersburg, Sundial — originally BayWalk — is on track to become a retail and entertainment destination its location has promised.

The outdoor mall and courtyard off Second Avenue North struggled through multiple owners, a 2008 foreclosure and, more recently, a legal battle challenging new construction. But now, Paradise Ventures, which acquired the Sundial in a partnership with Tampa-based Ally Capital Group in 2022, has cleared the path for activation from new leases and plans for a courtyard bar.
