National builders stay active in Tampa Bay region

National homebuilders are working communities at nearly every stage in the Tampa Bay region, from land acquisitions to home sales.

Here’s a roundup of some recent national builder activity.

Ruskin: Miami-based Lennar said it has launched sales at Townes at Southshore Pointe, a townhouse community. Prices start in the high $200,000s, Lennar said, with two-story floor plans ranging in size from 1,513 to 1,634 square feet.

“This will be a valuable addition to the community and opens the door of homeownership to a wide range of future residents ready to enjoy the best that the Southshore area of Tampa has to offer,” Steve Smith, Lennar’s Tampa division president, said in a statement.

Land O’Lakes: The 6,200-acre Angeline, a master-planned community in Pasco County, celebrated a milestone in late March with the opening of an amenity center in Medley Club at Angeline Active Adult. Angeline will also be home to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center’s forthcoming Speros FL campus. Tampa-based Metro Development is the master developer of Angeline, and Lennar is the builder of Angeline Active Adult.

Medley Club is over 12,000 square feet and includes a fitness center, yoga studio, cafe and bar as well as rooms for playing cards, billiards and games.

“This is a milestone for the 55-and-better component of our exceptional Angeline community,” Smith said in a statement. “Our goal was to mix superior Lennar homes with first-class amenities, placed right at our residents’ doorsteps. The opening of these amenities makes that plan a reality, ensuring that our active adult residents can live the Angeline lifestyle every day.”

In mid-March, Lennar purchased 80 acres in Land O’Lakes where it is planning 210 homes. That property is on State Road 52 near Ehren Cutoff. Lennar paid $7.76 million for the property.

Spring Hill: Atlanta-based Pulte Group closed a major land transaction in Spring Hill. It intends to build a Del Webb-branded community for adults over 55 years of age on 200 acres.

“Tampa Bay is a highly sought-after destination for 55+ homebuyers,” Sean Strickler, West Florida division president, said in a statement. “We are excited to offer Del Webb’s amazing lifestyle in such a great location in Central Pasco County. The easy access to the Gulf Coast beaches and the Nature Coast, proximity to Tampa and St. Petersburg, easy commute to Tampa International Airport and nearby medical and retail make the Del Webb River Reserve location tough to beat.”
