TAMPA - The Crowne Plaza Tampa Westshore will open in early March at 5303 W. Kennedy Blvd. after a renovation of the building that formerly was a Clarion Hotel and a Ramada Inn.

The hotel, under license with the Inter Continental Hotels Group, will have 222 rooms and more than 9,000 square feet of meeting space.

The site had been considered for a condominium project.

MHI Hospitality Corp. owns the hotel, which will be managed by MHI Hotel Services.
