Downtown Tampa's old Sheraton will be fully transformed by early 2027

The owners of the former Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk say they'll be ready to fully unveil their renovations, including two new dining options, by early 2027.

Newbond Holdings, which bought the property in 2022, says its multimillion-dollar renovations include an overhaul of the lobby, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Riverwalk. The property has been rebranded Hotel Cala since at least April, when Newbond secured a refinancing deal worth over $94 million to fund renovations. The firm said Wednesday the property will operate under the Curio Collection by Hilton flag.
