St. Petersburg approves funding for 645 affordable rental units across the city

St. Petersburg granted $40.85 million total to six affordable residential developments in the city.

City council unanimously approved the use of previously appropriated funds through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant–Disaster Recovery program toward creating and preserving 645 affordable rental units with affordability periods of at least 99 years. The projects are spread out across the city, including downtown, and vary from rehabilitation to new construction.
