Marriott-branded hotel near TPA trades hands for nearly $20M

TownePlace Suites by Marriott, a 121-room hotel near Tampa International Airport, has a new owner.

Maryland-based Baywood Hotels sold the extended-stay hotel to Orlando-based Southern Hospitality and Management Co. for $19.65 million, according to a deed filed with Hillsborough County. Public records usually do not reflect the entire sales price in a hotel transaction, as recorded prices do not include furniture, fixtures and equipment.
