Charlotte developer moves forward with Rocky Point apartments

A North Carolina developer is moving forward with plans to build apartments on a Rocky Point property previously home to a nearly 40-year-old hotel.

Northwood Ravin, based in Charlotte, said Tuesday that it plans to celebrate the groundbreaking of The Kimball on the previous Chase Suite Hotel. Northwood Ravin paid just under $21.5 million for the property in 2024. The Kimball will be 14 stories tall and have 296 apartments.
