UTampa's portion of the West Riverwalk takes shape

A large portion of the West Riverwalk expansion near the University of Tampa is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The roughly 2,000-foot section of the nearly $60 million Riverwalk expansion is under construction by Jacksonville-based Haskell Co., a design-build firm, and will stretch from Plant Park to Cass Street. It is 12 feet wide and designed to match the university’s architecture, including rows of brick bands along both sides of the trail and light poles that “complement the campus’ existing fixtures,” according to the city.
