Walden Lake redevelopment plans return with a move to keep golf on the property

The developers behind a long-contested plan to turn a fallow Plant City golf course into a subdivision are back — and this time, the plan includes a new golf course.

Developer Walden Lake LLC has submitted a new plan to Plant City that includes 340 residential units (60 villas and 280 single-family homes) on 319 acres of the former Walden Lake Golf Course and Country Club property. The developer also envisions a new nine-hole golf course, a golf clubhouse and amenity area, as well as a trail and park system that preserves the community's open space.
