Red Mesa Cantina's downtown St. Pete building sold to Atlanta taco chain

Red Mesa Cantina’s downtown St. Petersburg location was sold to a growing taco chain that plans to turn the building into a hospitality destination.

Atlanta-based street taco chain Rreal Tacos acquired the historic building at 128 Third St. S — the longtime home of Red Mesa Cantina, which abruptly closed and filed for bankruptcy last month. Rreal Tacos announced its first Florida location in January, sharing that it would be the first of many restaurants in the Tampa Bay region.
