How AI data centers lost the PR war — and what it means for businesses

The multitrillion-dollar push for data centers has sparked something increasingly rare in American politics — a transpartisan backlash — and there are lessons in public relations that business owners can learn from it, experts say.

So far, more than 70 state and local governments have passed a restriction on artificial intelligence data centers — or in some cases an outright ban for a certain length of time — as concerns over water usage, electricity consumption, noise and other issues grow.
