Plans for St. Petersburg Science Center revamp clear city approval

The former St. Petersburg Science Center is on track for a transformation into an AI training center and startup incubator.

The St. Pete Development Review Commission unanimously approved St. Pete for STEAM’s plans for the $25 million project that will more than double the size of the facility at 7701 22nd Ave. N, transforming the museum into a hub for entrepreneurship, workforce training and emerging technology. St. Pete for STEAM LLC, which is registered to Joe Hamilton’s St. Petersburg Group, will revitalize the existing Science Center, which has mostly sat vacant since 2014.
