Tierra Verde Marina redevelopment narrowly approved after hours of opposition from residents

A scaled-back redevelopment plan for the Tierra Verde Marina narrowly passed through St. Petersburg city approval despite massive opposition.

The St. Pete Development Review Commission approved Greenleaf Capital’s plans to redevelop the 7-acre property home to the 40-year-old marina in a 4-3 vote May 6. The approval came after four-plus hours of discussion defined by hundreds of opponents who filled two overflow rooms.
