Pinellas Park shopping center owner plans hotel, additional retail buildings

The Shoppes at Park Place, a large shopping center in Pinellas Park, could soon see more development.

Belleair Development Group wants to add a 120-room hotel, a drive-thru bank and 28,000 square feet of new retail space to the 495,000-square-foot shopping center at 7200 U.S. Highway 19 N. The developer is seeking an amendment to the site’s development plan, which Pinellas Park City Council indicated it supports in a unanimous vote at a first reading Tuesday evening.
