Entertainment district will rise next to Water Street Tampa in 2027

The developer of Water Street Tampa plans to build an entertainment district with a live music venue, hotel and more on Water Street’s western edge.

Strategic Property Partners announced on Thursday that it will develop the parking lot across the street from Benchmark International Arena and Yard House, with a groundbreaking scheduled for 2027. The lot is just under 3.8 acres and has been controlled by SPP since 2013 — the earliest days of the assemblage that would become Water Street Tampa, before the district had a name or conceptual renderings.
