Darryl Shaw plans another mixed-use redevelopment in Ybor City

Ybor City developer Darryl Shaw is laying the groundwork for a new project that spans roughly 30 acres and includes the former Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Representatives for Shaw on Monday filed a rezoning request that would make way for a mixed-use redevelopment of up to 2.9 million square feet of residential, office, commercial, retail and hotel uses on 55 parcels. The property Shaw wants to rezone is east of 19th Street, south of Palm Avenue, north of Sixth Avenue and west of the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway. The majority of it is within the boundaries of the Ybor City historic district.
