Tampa’s $18.5M Sanchez y Haya project aims to transform urban blight into a boutique hotel

A ceremonial groundbreaking on Nov. 25 marked the final phase of an $18.5 million restoration of the historic Sanchez y Haya building in Ybor City.

Built in 1910 as Tampa’s first reinforced concrete commercial structure, the Ignacio Y Haya building sits across from the iconic El Reloj cigar factory. The redevelopment will revive the original design, featuring a restaurant, a cigar lounge and a boutique hotel.
