Venice trapeze school to be replaced by hotel, circus tent event venue

A city-owned parcel in the home of the Ringling Circus could soon be redeveloped into a circus destination.

The site of Tito Gaona’s Trapeze Academy has been proposed to host a permanent circus tent alongside a 106-room hotel with robotic parking with car detailing and an outparcel that will be developed later, according to plans submitted to the Southwest Florida Water Management District Monday. Applications to the water management district are often a first step toward construction.
