Boutique condos near downtown St. Pete inch toward construction

A boutique Mirror Lake condominium project is inching toward construction a year after receiving city approval.

Developer Backstreets Capital submitted both a site plan and construction permit to the city of St. Petersburg on Sept. 10 for a seven-story, 18-unit condo building and a new single-family home. The developer is restoring a 1937-built historic home that sits on the property, which was developed by locally renowned builder Cade Allen. The project, at 749 Burlington Ave., is called The Cade Condominiums in his honor.
