Publix plans to tear down, rebuild Largo Mall store

Publix Super Markets Inc. is shedding another one of its legacy Albertsons stores, with plans to demolish and rebuild its Largo Mall location.

The Lakeland-based grocer applied for a permit totaling $7.16 million to build a new, 51,908-square-foot grocery store at 10500 Ulmerton Road, Suite 800, where a current Publix stands. The existing grocery store will be demolished and reconstructed, according to the permit filed June 10.
