Downtown St. Pete's five-story food hall is almost ready to open

A five-story food hall in downtown St. Petersburg will soon offer guests a smorgasbord of experiences, from a private social club to a frozen cocktail bar to an upscale Asian restaurant.

Central Park Food Hall at 551 Central Ave. is nearing completion after about four years of construction. It's been nearly seven years since ideas to transform the old Woolworth building surfaced. Hi Hospitality Group, founded by Natalia Levey, teamed up with Behar + Peteranecz Architecture, Barr & Barr and SSA to develop what they described as a vertical experience, serving up various food concepts and cocktails across five floors — three of which they added.
