First building at mixed-use development on Gandy waterfront to be built

A waterfront St. Petersburg property that spent years mired in the foreclosure process is slated to see vertical construction as a mixed-use development moves forward.

Miami-based Key International is leading the project, named Waterways Apartments and Marina, which will include 470 apartments, 150 boat slips, an 8,000-square-foot waterfront restaurant and several other amenities across 39 acres at 1200 Gandy Blvd. N. After site work began in late 2024, the developer has received its first vertical construction permit for one of the amenity-related buildings: the Snug Harbor Clubhouse.
