At State of the Economy, St. Pete officials barely mention Tropicana Field's future

After a year marked by historic hurricanes, St. Petersburg is looking toward the future — a future that includes a continuation of residential development and uncertainty when it comes to one of the city’s largest redevelopments, the Historic Gas Plant District.

Last year’s State of the Economy presentation was centered around St. Pete’s economic boom and excitement around the Historic Gas Plant redevelopment that City Development Administrator James Corbett called “the biggest economic opportunity we will have in our lifetimes.”
