Former Frontier building in downtown St. Pete to be transformed as part of mixed-use development

The former Frontier Communications building in downtown St. Petersburg is slated for a makeover as it joins a mixed-use project with nearly 300 residential units.

In 2023, a site plan that proposed turning a surface parking lot off Arlington Avenue into a 21-story, 292-unit residential tower, received approval, according to city documents. A new site plan, filed with the city in March, combines the previously approved multifamily project with the redevelopment of the office building at 821 First Ave. N., which once housed Frontier.
