Walmart plans another big investment in Florida stores

The world’s largest retailer is planning another round of investment in Florida.

Walmart Inc. on Wednesday unveiled plans to remodel 34 stores throughout the Sunshine State. Those renovations come after the Arkansas-based retailer spent $1.6 billion on its Florida footprint between 2020 and 2025. In 2017, Walmart revealed its plans to invest $450 million in Florida, building out an infrastructure that would allow it to compete against e-commerce behemoth Amazon and Publix Super Markets Inc., the state’s largest grocer.
