MetWest III lands another tenant to backfill PwC space

MetWest III, the office building in Tampa's Westshore business district that PricewaterhouseCoopers vacated in favor of remote work, has landed another tenant to backfill the accounting giant's space.

Logistics company Spot said Monday it will lease the fifth floor of MetWest III or 26,000 square feet. It can hold 245 people, which Spot said it plans to hire over the next three years. Sales, logistics and technology positions will be the company's top priority.

Spot also has offices in Indianapolis, Tempe, Arizona, and Charlotte, North Carolina.

CBRE Group Inc. senior vice presidents Ryan Reynolds and Bill Obregon represented PwC as the sublessor in the transaction. Jimmy Garvey, senior vice president at CBRE, and Kristin Kenney, vice president, represented Spot.

"Being in the Westshore business district, an area rich with talent and well-known Tampa businesses, is exactly where Spot can continue to grow and make an impact," Kreg Hunter, director of operations at Spot, said in a statement.

PwC transitioned the majority of its workforce to remote roles in 2021 and put MetWest III on the sublease market. Tampa-based software company Mad Mobile recently signed a long-term sublease in MetWest III; after the Spot deal, three floors, or roughly 78,000 square feet, are still available for sublease.

"We are looking for outstanding people with initiative, drive and passion to help meet the needs of our customers, and we know we will find those people in Tampa."
