Lightstone buys warehouses near Tampa International Airport

Lightstone, a national commercial real estate developer and investor, has acquired two warehouses near Tampa International Airport.

An entity linked to New York-based Lightstone paid $8.2 million for the warehouse at 8419 Sunstate St. and $6.8 million for the warehouse at 5601 Anderson Road.

Lightstone closed on the warehouses in late July, according to Hillsborough County property records. The warehouse on Sunstate Street is just over 41,000 square feet and is zoned for light manufacturing. It was built in 1980.

The Anderson Road property is a cold storage warehouse, according to property records, and is 47,392 square feet. It was built in 1958.

Industrial properties near Tampa International Airport are in high demand. Beyond proximity to the airport, the area offers easy access to the region's most densely populated neighborhoods — a critical need for warehouse tenants who offer same- or two-day delivery.
