Storage facility near Midtown Tampa sold for $18.5M

A self-storage facility near Midtown Tampa has been sold for $18.5 million.

The five-story, 600-unit self-storage facility is located at the intersection of Interstate 275 and Dale Mabry. The facility was developed by Steve Freedman, owner of Freedman’s Development, in 2018.

Freedman filled the building and sold it in just 18 months, according to a release.

“I saw the opportunity to provide the Tampa community with a climate-controlled, professionally managed self-storage facility with a great location,” said Freedman. “The self-storage industry has seen enormous growth over the past several years, and it’s not slowing down.”

Freedman’s Development specializes in developing multistory, climate-controlled self-storage facilities with high visibility throughout the Florida market.

The company is planning a new 140,000-square-foot self-storage facility with 1,200 units near Ashley Drive and I-275 in downtown Tampa.
