RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Potato farm owner buys Sarasota office building for $1.7 million Alan Jones, owner of Jones Potato Farm in Parrish, Fla., recently acquired an office building at 8830 S. Tamiami Trail for $1.7 million. Managing the deal, which closed July 7, was Ryan McDonald, an Advisor for SVN Commercial Advisory Group.
Built in 1998, the property is alongside the U.S. Highway 41 corridor in a highly populated area and busy retail center.
McDonald represented the buyer, who serves on the Manatee County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and runs a 4,000-acre farm. The seller was Pam Rasmussen of North Creek Development, LLC.
“This is a well-constructed office building with existing long-term tenants who will remain with the new owner,” McDonald said. “It’s a great location, close to major retailers on Highway 41. About 31,000 cars drive past this property every day.”
The single-story building contains 10,060 square feet and rests on about an acre of land. The property is situated in the heart of Palmer Ranch, a popular master-planned community of 10,000 acres.
“We’re pleased with how quickly Ryan made this deal happen,” said Matt Christian, Managing Director of SVN Commercial Advisory Group. “The client approached him, asking about the availability of income property in the area. Within five days, Ryan had this office building under contract.” |
