Freedom Village, a senior living community in Bradenton, has sold for $53 million.

The community, previously owned by Tennessee-based Brookdale Senior Living Solutions, was bought by HCP Inc. of Irvine, Calif., the Bradenton Herald said. In addition to Freedom, HCP will buy three other Brookdale communities.

The sale is the largest real estate transaction so far in 2014 in Manatee County, the Herald said, and was completed on Sept. 2. Under a joint venture agreement, Brookdale will continue to manage the property which includes independent living units, assisted living and services including skilled nursing.

The deal is part of a $1.2 billion joint venture agreement between HCP and Brookdale including 14 continuing care communities, the Herald said.
