Developer finally closes on Without Walls site in Westshore

A developer that has been working on a redevelopment for the Without Walls International Church site in Tampa's Westshore district has finally closed on the property.

The Richman Group paid $14.3 million for 13 acres at 3860 W. Columbus Drive, west of its intersection with Dale Mabry Highway. (See map lower right.) Sperry Van Ness Commercial Real Estate LLC brokers Bill Gross and Kenny Anderson represented the seller in the transaction.

The sale was on hold after the church filed for bankruptcy in March.

Anderson said Thursday that he believes Richman will pursue its original plans for the property, which include more than 500 apartment units.

He said the last church service is slated for Sept. 7, and the church is expected to vacate the property by Sept. 9.
