Darden unloads Tampa area Red Lobster real estate

Three Tampa Bay Red Lobster restaurants have changed hands as part of a $1.5 billion sale-leaseback agreement.

Orlando-based Darden Restaurants Inc. sold the Red Lobster concept to Golden Gate Capital in a $2.1 billion deal. As part of that deal, the Red Lobster real estate was sold to New York-based real estate investment trust American Realty Capital Properties Inc. for $1.5 billion, reports the Orlando Business Journal, a sister publication. ARC is leasing the restaurants to Golden Gate.

These Tampa area properties were sold, according to Hillsborough County property records:

2604 W. Brandon Blvd., $5.9 million
11601 North Dale Mabry Highway, $4.5 million
17021 Palm Pointe Drive, $2.9 million
