Trader Joe's site in South Tampa sells for $2.7 million

The former Shapes gym space being transformed into a Trader Joe's grocery sold for $2.7 million, court records show.

Swann Avenue Properties of Brandon last week sold the parcel at South Dale Mabry Highway and Swann Avenue to Cap Dale Mabry LLC, an affiliate of Centennial American Properties. The South Carolina based developer also manages leasing, maintenance, and tenant services.

A Trader Joe's spokeswoman told the Tampa Bay Business Journal last week that the grocer is leasing at the site, 3808 W. Swann Ave.

A call last week to Swann Avenue Properties co-owner Robert Karshner was not returned.

Drew Margol of Margol Commercial Realty Services in Jacksonville brokered the transaction but declined to discuss the deal with the Business Journal.
