University Collection, a 107,198-square-foot retail center near the University of South Florida, has sold for $18.4 million.

The deal did not include the 40,071-square-foot Sweetbay Supermarket that anchors the center. The grocery remains open, while 33 other Florida stores were closed earlier this year.

University Collection CRP LLC, a joint venture partnership between Ram CRA Partners and Forge Capital Partners LLC sold the property, 2702 E. Fowler Ave., to an institutional commercial real estate investment fund managed by Charlotte-based Faison.

The nearly 30-year-old retail center was 80 percent leased at the time of the late-May closing, which was brokered by The Shopping Center Group.
