Sarasota County has received plans for a project to build 62 townhomes in the vicinity of the University Town Center mall.
The project by Peach Willow LLC, a North Port company, would be the third announced in a two-mile radius of UTC designed to offer housing to employees and others interested in living near the mall.
The multifamily development project near Muirfield Village at Honore's will be set on 9 acres. The $315 million luxury mall is expected to open in October 2014 and is expected to create 2,000 jobs by then, theSarasota Herald-Tribune said.
Construction on the townhome project is slated for June with a first model to be complete end of the year. Peach Willow bought the foreclosed land from FCB Central Holdings LLC, for $650,000 in May, the Herald-Tribune said.
