Eight more Florida community banks have received $70.8 million to lend to small businesses in the final wave of money doled out through the Small Business Lending Fund, the U.S. Department of the Treasury said Wednesday.

The fund, created as part of the Small Business Jobs Act, has given out of total of $144.6 million for 17 Florida community banks to lend.

Tampa Bay area banks included in the latest round and the amount they're receiving include: Florida Business BancGroup of Tampa, $15.4 million; and Platinum Bank of Brandon, $13.8 million.
