Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT Inc. bought a $28.9 million data center in Richardson, Texas.

It's the first acquisition for Carter Validus, a public, non-traded real estate investment trust headquartered in Tampa.

The newly purchased data center has 20,000 square feet and is leased by a national health organization, a company statement said.

The tenant's identity was not disclosed for security reasons.
