LA Fitness Leases Space at Regency Centers
LA Fitness Leases 46,820 Square Feet of Space in St. Petersburg, Florida at Regency Centers

St. Petersburg, FL – Regency Centers (www.regencycenters.com), a national owner, operator and developer of grocery-anchored and community shopping centers, has leased 46,820 square feet of retail space in St. Petersburg, FL to LA Fitness at Marketplace Shopping Center. This will be the first LA Fitness location in St. Petersburg and the sixth location in the Tampa Bay area.

The local club will include basketball, racquetball, swimming, indoor cycling, free weights, cardio equipment, and personal, group and corporate training along with a juice bar, retail, Kids Club along with other amenities. The fitness center is currently under construction and scheduled to open first quarter 2011. The tenant was represented by Rebecca Hallum with The Shopping Center Group.

According to Cary Anderson, senior leasing agent, "The addition of LA Fitness provides an opportunity to re-merchandise the center with more fitness-related stores and services.” The 90,296 square foot shopping center currently includes a wide variety of retail, restaurant and service businesses such as Starbucks, Planet Beach, Cody's Roadhouse Grill, Athenian Gardens and The UPS Store.
